The beauty of Internal Shutters that they can be used in different configurations and allow you to maximise light as well as giving you privacy when you need it. The cafe style shutter can be manufactured to finish at any point. This means the bottom half of the window or door can have shutters but the top part will always be open allowing light to flood in, this is very usefull if a window is in an area where the general public can look in, by having the shutter fixed at a certain point it will ensure privacy is retained, see image 1 below.
The Tier on Tier concept allows you to have total control of the bottom half and top half of a shutter but totally independently. There are many permutations to the tier on tier system because you have the 1 set of shutters at the top of the window and one set at the bottom of the window thus allowing you to have some closed while others are open. We very rarely use the Tier on Tier system as it can look over powering and tend to use the mid rail system which allows you to still have control of the top and bottom half of the windows but without all the extra doors and hinges. Our video link below will go into more detail on this and other points about the Plantation Shutter system.
As mentioned above if you cant find a colour to match your decor we are able to match to the most popular paint colour references to give you perfect colour coordination. So you have a wide and exhaustive selection to choose from as far as colour is concerned for your plantation shutters. Plantation shutters are not a cheap option but the finish and look it can give a room is second to none. There are cheaper options i.e MDF (medium density fibreboard) made shutters which are much heavier and will not go to the sizes we can but in the end you get what you pay for and if real wood is your option then Basswood fits the bill with the extra assurance that it has the Luxaflex brand name behind it and a 5 year Guarantee.
