Metal Venetian Blinds

Metal Venetian Blinds

Metal Venetian blinds are probably one of the most popular forms of window covering their versatility with light control, appearance, privacy and and price make them hard to beat. They come in various slat widths, 16mm, 25mm, 35mm and 50mm and have a cord to raise the blind and a nylon tilt wand, which tilts the slats. There are three other control options apart from the standard tilt wand and cord control. You can have mono commando, a gear operated system which is all controlled by one chain. When you pull the chain control one way, it will lower the blind and if you go the other direction, it will first tilt the blind and then start to raise the blind, the benefits of this system is you only end up with the one control to tilt and raise/lower and it is also more of a finer control system than the standard control. If you would like an electrically operated system, it would be first worth looking at the battery control system,  where you will not have the transformers, which will need to be hidden. The battery tilt only option, consists of a remote control unit powered by battery and normally hidden behind the blind, which gives you the control of tilting the slats via a remote handset, with the raising of the blind being done by manual cord control. This is a good way of controlling window blinds, that are not accessible to normal control systems Of course all Venetian blinds can have full electric control if required, which would tilt and raise the blind with use of a switch or remote control.

There is a very large choice of colours and textures available to choose from in the standard venetian blind range, from brushed alluminium, silver, mirror and chrome to deep and vivid colours. For something a little more unusual the perforated slat could be chosen. Available in a range of colours, these blinds have little holes grouped closely together on the slatting, hence the name perforated. In the day when the blind is down, you can see out through the holes but cannot be seen from outside. At night when the blind is down and a light is on in the room, you will be visible from outside but as a slightly distorted image. We also have a range of metal wood effect finishes called Alubois which have a selection of wood grain shades.

We have a special Venetian blind called Variozone which is operated by cord and can be opened at different sections as you pull on the control cord, this allows you to open the slats say in the middle of the window, but keep the top and bottom portions of the window covered with the blind. To explain further if you operate the control cord the blind will tilt open at the top section of the window as you continue to pull on the cord the opening positions will change all the way down the window until it reaches the blinds manufactured drop.
