Types of Awning

Types of Awning

There are a range of Sun Awnings available for different situations. We tend to sell 3 types generally, the first being the Silver Awning, which is the most cost effective, the Milano, which is semi cassetted and the Base Plus, which is fully cassetted.

To explain the meaning of cassetted: An awning is supported by metal arms which when operated, move from a folded position to an outstretched position, the fabric is suspended above these arms. In the case of a semi cassetted awning, when the awning is retracted back the fabric feeds itself into its own box for protection from the weather, the arms however, hang outside the box. In the case of a fully cassetted version, the arms and the fabric are encased within the box, this option obviously protects both arms and fabric and looks neater when the blind is retracted.

Silver Awning

The silver is the perfect entry level patio awning for residential installations, as it is a high quality system at a very affordable price. It has a 30mm x 30mm square bar running its entire length, onto which the installation brackets are located. This awning is not cassetted in any way but a top covering box can be fitted above the awning, to give some protection to the fabric. Milano Awning
