When we do a survey on your property we decide whether or not to use standard brackets or Spreader Plate brackets. Where there is plenty of wall space above the fixing we can use standard brackets however if there is no wall space above the fixing points we will need to use spreader plates or bungalow brackets as they are sometime known. These Brackets allow us to create fixing points lower down the wall and spread the load of the Awning, which in turn gives us a secure and stable installation. The Brackets are shown below in image 1 & 2.
We can manufacture different types of bracket for most problem areas that can occur from time to time. One of the situations can be if a door or window opens outwards it will not allow us to fit the Awning on the wall in the normal place as this would stop the door or window being opened. We are able to overcome this problem by using Gutter Brackets which bring the Awning out and then up as seen in image 3 below.
I have been in this Business for many years and until 4 or 5 years ago we fixed all our Awnings using the Rawbolt method. Rawbolts have there place but we now fix all our Awnings with a 2 part chemical fix which when set is harder than the brick itself. Rawbolts expand the brick as you tighten the bolt so if they are overtightened they can give surface cracks, the beauty of the chemical fix system is there is no expansion of the brick at all and any defect inside the brick i.e lack of mortar inside the brick (frog), will be taken care of as the solution we inject into the pre drilled hole will spread into these defects and create a solid base for us to fix our studs to. Our product video link below will give full details on this section and more about our Awning systems.
